Marksmanship, judgmental and collective video simulation courseware
Courseware is an important component of our military simulation training systems and is provided in CGI, marksmanship and judgmental video formats. Standard packages are provided with each system. For a user specific customized solution, Meggitt Training Systems staff of Subject Matter Experts work with the client to develop solutions that fit their specific need.
CGI scenarios support collective training in a tactical environment. This supports training of a squad as a group or splitting the squad into groups to cover different sectors of fire. The CGI software also supports High Level Architecture (HLA) networking between multiple Meggitt training systems (of same configuration) to allow multiple squads on different Meggitt systems to participate in a joint training exercise. Embedded CGI authoring enables customers to create new collective training scenarios by selecting from 200+ model libraries including humans, ground vehicles, fixed aircraft, rotary wing aircraft, buildings and various terrains.
CGI Indirect Fire Trainer (IFT) courseware (Optional)
CGI IFT software is also available to accurately train forward observer and forward air control procedures. It displays the effects of the close-in fire support and close air support, Fighter (and other Aircraft) Ground Attack (FGA) and helicopter missions.
Marksmanship lanes courseware
Lanes courseware supports traditional range courses used for marksmanship training. Embedded lanes authoring capability enables customer subject matter experts to create unique firearms qualification courses through the selection of various range backgrounds and targets. The customer can also import image files of new targets and backgrounds to be used in virtual firearms training courses.
Our vast library of video courseware (exceeding 200 scenarios) supports judgmental training where it is important for a soldier to analyze a situation and potential threat, and respond accordingly. Soldier responses can range from verbal commands, less lethal engagement using optional chemical spray devices and Taser® simulators, and/or lethal engagement using firearms. For each segment of the video scenario, the instructor is presented with a list of possible outcomes, or branching options, from which to choose to tailor the scenario outcome based on training objectives or adjusting to differing soldier responses. An optional Video Authoring Station enables instructors to create new scenarios to support specific training objectives.
