Meggitt Training Systems to emphasize readiness via portable small-arms simulator at NGAUS Conference

Suwanee, GA – Meggitt Training Systems will conduct demonstrations of its FATS® 100P portable simulator at the National Guard Association of the United States 104th Conference in New Orleans on August 24-27. Leveraging key features from the US Army Engagement Skills Trainer II and US Marine Corps Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer programs of record, the industry-leading FATS 100P delivers a significant expansion in virtual small-arms training capability.

“The EST II architecture, as seen in the FATS 100P at NGAUS, is proving invaluable as the Army’s small-arms training system of record,” said Matt Cunningham, Meggitt’s manager of virtual systems. “As such, it’s the ideal solution for Army National Guard and Reserve units seeking similar proficiency levels in marksmanship and judgmental small-arms training with maximum mobility.”

The FATS 100P features advanced functionality for both instructor and trainee, delivering weapon handling and shot placement analytics, marksmanship automatic coaching tools, video-based judgmental training for escalation and de-escalation, and enhanced graphic capabilities, all in a compact package. Portable and light, the FATS 100P comes in two rugged hand-carry cases the size of a large range bag that allow easy transportation, set-up and operation by one person. Up to six weapon simulators, including wireless BlueFire® ones, can be run simultaneously.

“The FATS 100P can be the perfect complement to EST II for smaller or remote National Guard or Reserve units, providing a similar level of marksmanship and judgmental training as the EST II in a portable form factor,” noted Cunningham. “It also can facilitate the sharing of training resources among units, as well as enable field deployment for easy set-up in a room that’s not a dedicated training space.”
