Suwanee, GA – Meggitt Training Systems, the leading provider of integrated live-fire and virtual weapons training products and services, will sponsor the Atlanta Police Foundation’s “A Night in Blue 2018” fundraising event.

The April 12 event at the Fox Theatre is designed to be an immersive experience that emphasizes how realistic training prepares the Atlanta Police Department for today’s law enforcement challenges. Meggitt Training Systems will highlight and demonstrate its new FATS® 100P portable virtual system, along with a selection of wireless BlueFire® weapons that accurately simulate real-life form, fit and function. The FATS 100P is a derivative of the range-topping FATS 100LE, which was purchased by the Atlanta Police Foundation in 2016 for their training and simulation center.

“Meggitt Training Systems welcomes the opportunity to sponsor ‘A Night in Blue’ for a second year and continue our longstanding support of the Atlanta Police Department,” said Jeff Murphy, president, Meggitt Training Systems. “Our skilled employees based in nearby Suwanee help ensure that those who put their lives on the line every day in Atlanta and around the world have access to world-class training.”

The FATS 100P features advanced functionality for both instructor and trainee, delivering weapon handling and shot placement analytics, marksmanship automatic coaching tools, video-based judgmental training for escalation and de-escalation, and enhanced graphic capabilities, all in a compact package. Portable and light, the FATS 100P comes in two rugged hand-carry cases the size of a large range bag that allows easy transportation, set-up and operation by one person. Up to six weapon simulators, including wireless BlueFire® ones, can be run simultaneously.

“Law enforcement and military operations have changed dramatically. Today’s threats make intensive and realistic weapons training more important than ever, and that’s what Meggitt delivers here in Atlanta and worldwide,” Murphy added.

Meggitt employs more than 400 people at its headquarters in Suwanee, plus others in Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East. Its training solutions have been chosen as programs of record by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, as well as sold to military forces in Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and other allies. Meggitt not only facilitates training for the world’s best warfighters, it also provides virtual and live-fire solutions for law enforcement agencies in more than 100 countries.
